Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Education for Women, Asst. Prof. Dr. Athmar Shaker Majeed Al-Shatri, and  the supervision of the  Head of the Department of Geography, Asst. Prof. Dr. Vian Ahmed Mohamed, the Department of Geography, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held the training workshop tagged: ((International Migration Between Laws and Obstacles)) on Thursday, 2/1/2025 at  eleven o’clock in the morning, and at the Graduate Studies Hall, Department of Geography, and was attended by a group of professors of the department and graduate students, and lectured by: Prof. Dr. Salah Mohsen Jassim, and Asst. Inst. Samar Hussein Okla.

The training workshop aims to find out the following:

1- Knowing the causes, volume, and trends of illegal international migration.

2- Explaining the procedures of the receiving countries and their procedures to reduce and prevent them.

The training workshop reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which are:

1- The political, economic, and environmental events and conditions in the Middle East, Africa, and Central America threaten to increase the flow of illegal migrants towards the countries of northern and western Europe and North America.

2 Ways to deal with illegal immigrants are far from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international conventions.
